Breakfast lasts fifteen minutes now
She used to clear a bowl in under a minute and then sit staring at me for the rest of the morning. The ball drops a piece at a time as she noses it round the kitchen and the same portion keeps her busy for a quarter of an hour. It unscrews in half so filling it is a five second job.

Noisy on a hard floor
It does exactly what it says and our terrier has worked out how to get the last pieces out of the corner. On laminate at six in the morning it sounds like a bowling alley, so it now lives on a rug. At 11.5 cm across it is a sensible size for a small dog.

Check your kibble size first
Ours is right on 8 mm and it flows out nicely piece by piece. A friend tried hers with a larger biscuit and it jams, so the stated size is worth paying attention to. The clear body means the cat can see what is left, which keeps her at it.

Start it full, as the description says
First go I put a token amount in and he lost interest within a minute because nothing came out. I filled it properly the next day and he stuck with it right to the end. Obvious advice once you read it, and I ignored it.

She sits and stares at it
No fault in the ball, it rolls well and the plastic has no smell to it whatsoever. My older cat simply will not push it, she sits beside it and waits for me to do the work. The kitten adores it, so it is very much down to the animal.

Rinses out properly
Two halves that come apart means you can get inside and dry it, which is more than you can say for most food toys. There was no smell to the plastic even when it was new out of the box. Ours is the blue one and it has taken a lot of stairs.

The halves can work loose
After one heavy session the two halves had turned enough to open a gap and a few pieces spilled out at once. I give it an extra twist now and it has been fine since. She is entertained by it for a good stretch every evening, which is all I wanted from it.

Good for a bored indoor cat
He is indoors only and flat out by the middle of the afternoon, so making him work for his food filled an obvious gap in his day. The clear body lets him see the kibble moving inside, which keeps him going at it. We do this twice a day instead of a bowl now.

The spaniel has appropriated it
Bought for the cat and the dog claimed it within a day, and at 200 grams it has survived him fine. He is far rougher with it and there are scuffs but no cracks anywhere. I fill it through the middle once in the morning and that is that.
