Ordered a second one

The best seat in the house costs no floor space.
Height, warmth and a view, using no floor at all. In a small flat that combination is difficult to provide any other way, which is why window perches get used when floor beds do not.

Why you'll love it
Cats settle better with elevation and sightlines. A window perch delivers both in a flat that has no room for a cat tree.
It gives an indoor cat the warm patch they'd otherwise hunt for on a windowsill full of things to knock off.
Suction cups mean no brackets, no screws and nothing to make good when you leave.

Elevation matters to cats for two reasons. A raised position gives a wide view of approaches, so nothing can arrive unseen, and it removes the cat from the floor where people and other animals move. That combination lowers stress in a way that a comfortable bed at ground level does not.
A window adds two more things: warmth from sunlight, and something to watch. For an indoor cat, watching birds, weather and the street is genuine environmental enrichment, and a cat with nothing to look at is a cat with a large amount of empty day to fill.
Suction works by air pressure against a perfectly smooth, clean, nonporous surface. Ordinary flat glass is ideal. Textured, frosted, patterned or leaded glass is not, because the surface cannot form a seal, and a cup that appears to hold on textured glass will let go without warning.
Even on good glass, suction weakens over time as air migrates in, and it weakens faster with temperature swings, which a sunny window has every day. Press each cup firmly back down weekly. Clean the glass and the cups with warm water occasionally, since dust and grease under a cup are the usual reason one fails.
Cats are cautious about new furniture that moves, and a hammock does move slightly. Put something that already smells of the cat on it, a favourite blanket or your own worn jumper, and leave it alone rather than lifting the cat onto it. Placing a cat somewhere it has not chosen tends to produce the opposite result.
Choose the window carefully. A sunny one with something happening outside will be used far more than a shaded one facing a wall, and a quiet room beats a busy hallway. If the perch is ignored after a fortnight, moving it to a different window is usually more effective than any amount of encouragement.

Exactly as the description.
I assumed they would creep down the glass within a fortnight and they have not moved once, though I did clean the window properly before fitting it. She is on it from about nine in the morning when the sun comes round the front of the house. The 55 by 35 is enough for her to lie out fully.
My first attempt lasted a day because I had wiped the glass rather than actually cleaned it. Did it again with hot water and no residue left and it has been solid ever since. Worth saying the cups need smooth glass, mine would not hold at all on the textured bathroom pane.
There is no room in here for a cat tree and this gave him height and a view without taking anything from the floor. He watches the street from it most of the afternoon. The steel wire frame does not sag in the middle even when he lands on it from the sill.
The cover was thick with fur within a month, which is a cat problem rather than a design one. Popping the four cups off and putting the whole thing back up takes about a minute either way, so it actually gets washed. The Oxford fabric has not faded on the sunny side yet.
It went up easily and holds firm, so no complaint about how it is built. Our cat uses it for twenty minutes and then goes back to the sofa, which may be because the window faces north and never gets any sun. On a south facing window I suspect this would be a five.
Two cats and one window, so there was some negotiation, but they have settled into a rota. They have both been on it at once more than once and it did not budge, though with a limit of about ten kilos that is as far as I want to push it. The fabric is firmer than it looks in the photos.
Good questions
On clean, smooth glass they hold well. Wipe both the glass and the cups with rubbing alcohol before fitting, and press them on again every couple of weeks.
No. Suction needs a smooth, nonporous surface, so frosted, textured or leaded glass will not work.
On clean, smooth, flat glass they hold well, but suction weakens over time and with temperature changes. Press each cup down weekly and clean the glass occasionally.
No. Suction needs a smooth nonporous surface to seal against, and a cup on textured glass can appear to hold and then release without warning.
Up to roughly 10 kg, which covers most cats. Mount it low regardless, and test it with something heavier than your cat before letting the cat use it.

Advice

It isn't spite, and it isn't your cat testing gravity. Four things drive the pawing off behaviour, and three of them are fixable in a week.
